The Opportunity
Union Square Ventures, a NYC-based VC firm, sought a long-term partner to elevate their Annual Portfolio Summit by creating a memorable experience for over 100+ CEOs. While the brand is traditionally known for its prestigious investment philosophy, they wanted to create an event that felt welcoming and accessible to attendees, and fostered meaningful conversations and learning among the attendees.
Our Solution
To do this, we drew inspiration from the brand’s own ethos. What better way to honor a venture capital firm in NYC than to transform some of the New York (and NY adjacent) most iconic locations into the dynamic backdrop for these discussions?
From culturally vibrant Brooklyn and musically infused Asbury Park to the picturesque, laid-back atmosphere of Montauk, each retreat over the past 3 years unfolded across diverse venues transformed to amplify the event's spirit and encourage engagement—all while seamlessly integrating local culture.
Creative Implementation
The three-day summits are always eclectic: a cocktail party held in an exclusive art gallery (with the artist making a guest appearance), an intimate performance at the iconic Stone Pony, or a vintage pinball arcade after-party. These thoughtfully chosen venues, combined with engaging activities, created a unique atmosphere that reflected the essence of each location, enhancing both the discussions and the overall experience.
